Wieden + Kennedy, the advertising agency, and Laika, the Oscar-nominated animation studio, are subsidizing a portion of daycare expenses for employees. They're doing it using the drop-in licensed care and preschool provider WeVillage.
“We wanted to target corporations that are like-minded, who employ creative employees who were looking for a higher level of service and more hands-on, flexible childcare with an early childhood education component,” WeVillage owner Karen Beninati said.
Beninati opened her first WeVillage location in the Pearl in late 2009. She has since opened two more locations and has served more than 4,000 families.
WeVillage offers flexible, no-commitment licensed care for children six weeks to 12 years old, as well as a drop-in preschool and special events for kids. Families pay by the hour, with a minimum stay of two hours.
